Becky & Matt – The Maynard Wedding Photographer
As a passionate dog lover and admirer of beautiful decor, I couldn’t have been more thrilled when Becky and Matt, a couple after my own heart, chose me as their photographer for their wedding at The Maynard. Their love story began while walking their dog up Curbar Edge, where they got engaged, and they carried their shared love for simplicity and minimalism into their wedding theme, with a stunning combination of whites, creams, gold, and green.
The Maynard, Hope Valley
Nestled in the beautiful Hope Valley, The Maynard is a boutique country house hotel. It is stylish, contemporary and boasts stunning views out over the Peak District. I could see straight away why Becky and Matt chose here as their wedding venue.
The ceremony room featured a stunning copper backdrop adorned with florals, white petals lining the aisle, and flickering candles scattered throughout. They placed family photos on a nearby table, adding a lovely and personal touch. I loved how Becky and Matt’s stylish decor complemented the wooden floors and paneled walls of the space.
Matt remained composed as Becky’s bridesmaids walked down the aisle. However, the flood of emotions overcame him as soon as he caught sight of his beautiful bride, accompanied by her son. He couldn’t hold back the tears of happiness. I have to give a shout-out to their beautiful daughter too, who was a very cute and cheeky flower girl!
Both Becky and Matt wore radiant smiles as they exchanged heartfelt vows, prompting the room to erupt into cheers as they sealed their commitment with their first married kiss.
The newlyweds left the ceremony room and walked outside, into a cloud of confetti thrown by their loved ones. I absolutely love a confetti moment; it’s a delightful occasion filled with unbridled joy and laughter. It’s one of my favourite things to capture on a wedding day.
Weddings at The Maynard Hotel
While their guests enjoyed drinks and canapes, Becky, Matt, and I took a stroll around the lawn for some pictures. Their children joined us shortly after for relaxed family photos. The rest of the afternoon was spent catching up with friends and family.
As evening fell Becky, Matt and I nipped off for a few more photographs then it was time to party! They stepped onto the dance floor for their first dance together, quickly joined by their loved ones. The dance floor remained packed all night, with everyone having an incredible time and creating a brilliant atmosphere. Such a fab end to an amazing day!
